I am Mandy, a fully qualified level 3 Personal Trainer, and I run AM Fit Personal Training, which offers a wide variety of fitness services. With nearly seven years working experience, I now have qualifications in GP exercise referral, core training, kettlebells, exercise for fat loss, pre and post natal exercise, and nutrition. I am fully insured and hold both a first aid certificate and Covid-19 awareness certificate.
I have always been into all kinds of fitness, though running was my biggest passion. I have completed many marathons and ultra marathons, the longest being Hardmoors 110 miles, which I completed in 31 hours in 2008 and finished 2nd lady. I have also run the Great North Run 10 times! Unfortunately after a severe Achilles injury in 2016, I am unable to run much nowadays.
I now train in many different ways to achieve my health, strength and fitness goals. In the last couple of years, I’ve taken an interest in Calisthenics and aerial hoop, and now spend much of my time upside down! I’ve also recently taken up open water swimming, and enjoy a good physical challenge... and sometimes a silly physical challenge!
Exercise is a way of life for me and through my own injury and training I have realised even more, that no matter what your issue or injury, you can still find a way to safely continue to stay active and achieve your goals.
I feel very passionate about helping others realise the enormous mental and physical health benefits of exercise and being physically active. This was my main push for a dramatic change in career, after nearly ten years working for the water board in their laboratories.
I take great pleasure in watching my clients go from strength to strength and achieve their health, fitness and exercise goals. On their journey, I help my clients make sustainable lifestyle changes, giving advice on exercise, nutrition and mindset.
Whatever their goals are, from feeling better about themselves and more confident, losing weight, gaining energy, increasing strength, generally becoming fitter and healthier, or if they have a specific fitness/exercise target to reach, I help my clients thrive on their way to achieving what they never thought was possible.
For me, exercise is about learning to love what your body can do, not punishing it for how you think it should look! My mission is to help others achieve a more positive outlook of their bodies and exercise, whilst also achieving their goals.
